Crisis and Emergency Procedures

If a crisis occurs while a consumer is receiving services from PRIDE IN NORTH CAROLINA, INC. please know that we have established procedures for handling the situation whether it is medically, mentally related or caused by natural/environmental factors.

Specific staff within PRIDE IN NORTH CAROLINA, INC. are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this is called First Responder. Upon admission to any service we will discuss how and when to use this emergency numbers and the importance of a Crisis Plan for the consumer. Types of emergencies that have specific plans are:

• Consumer Behavior
• Involuntary commitment/hospitalization
• Suicide Emergencies
• Elopement or Runaway
• Emergency Medical Treatment
• Fire
• Inclement Weather
