Crisis and Emergency Procedures

If a crisis occurs while a consumer is receiving services from Pride In North Carolina (PRIDE) please know that we have established procedures for handling the situation whether it is medically, mentally related or caused by natural/environmental factors.

Specific staff within PRIDE – called First Responder – are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Upon admission to any service, we will discuss with you the importance of a Crisis Plan for the consumer, as well as how and when to use these emergency numbers.

Types of emergencies that have specific plans are:

  • Consumer Behavior
  • Involuntary commitment/hospitalization
  • Suicide Emergencies
  • Elopement or Runaway
  • Emergency Medical Treatment
  • Fire
  • Inclement Weather
